wordsout permissions

All written works and videos on the wordsout site, apart from those in the sections Poems I'd like to have written and Cafe Church poets, are my copyright. In some cases additional creators and copyright holders are identified.

Any of my works published here, or parts of them, may be performed or published free of charge and without specific permission for non-commercial (not-for-profit) purposes under the terms of the Creative Commons by-nc-nd license (see here for details). This general permission includes use in church services (live, recorded or broadcast) and church magazines, and in events or publications produced for charities.

Where practical the author should be acknowledged in uses of any kind. A suitable written credit is © Godfrey Rust, www.wordsout.co.uk.

If an excerpt from a work is used it should be made clear that it is an except (the word "From" in front of the title is often enough). Minor adaptations and changes of reference may be made without permission to allow for context (for example, a local traffic bottleneck might be referred to instead of "the Wandsworth one-way system"), but please do not make arbitrary changes to the text otherwise.

For commercial uses, or if wanting to make translations or more significant modifications, or if you are unsure, please contact me.

For uses of works by a Cafe Church poet, please contact me and I will put you in touch.

All income for wordsout goes to charity, to support two schools in Jos, northern Nigeria, set up and run in very difficult circumstances by my friend Pastor Kenneth Ononeze (see here), so while no fee is required for non-commercial use, donations are gratefully received. Payments or donations may be made via Paypal to godfrey@wordsout.co.uk, or contact me for cheque or bank transfer payments.

Most of the poems have an image associated with them, which I have chosen simply to complement the poem and sometimes provide context. I have acknowledged the creator and/or source where it has been identifiable and contacted the creators/owners for permission where this was explicitly required. If anyone objects to the use of their images in this way I will of course remove them. wordsout is not-for-profit and no commercial benefit accrues to anyone from this re-use, and I hope it may introduce others to the work of the artists and photographers represented to their benefit.
